The Dundee Muslim community has been present in the city since the 1960s, when South Asian workers settled in Dundee's textile and jute industries. The mosque grew from a small community hall to its current prominent position in the Hilltown area, serving a growing and diverse congregation from across Pakistan, Bangladesh, the Middle East and East Africa.
