## About Taunton Central Masjid & Islamic Centre

The Taunton and Somerset Islamic Centre was established in 1993 as the growing Muslim community in the area created demand for a dedicated mosque. Located at Ivor House on Tower Lane in central Taunton, it serves as the main place of worship for Muslims across Taunton and the wider Somerset area and is closely associated with the local Bangladeshi community. It offers the five daily prayers, Friday (Jummah) congregational prayers for men and women, religious gatherings and festival celebrations, and Islamic education. The centre was formally registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales in March 2025 as "Taunton Central Masjid and Islamic Centre" (charity no. 1212592).
