What is Ramadan?
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic Hijri calendar and the holiest month for Muslims worldwide. It is the month in which the Quran was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Muslims fast from the pre-dawn Sehri (Suhoor) meal until Iftar at Maghrib (sunset) every day.
Sehri (Suhoor) is the pre-dawn meal taken before the Fajr adhan. The fast begins at Fajr time. Iftar is the breaking of the fast at Maghrib (sunset). Muslims traditionally break the fast with dates and water before performing Maghrib prayer.
