Dua for Entering the Home
The Prophet ﷺ instructed believers to mention Allah's name upon entering their home. This simple act drives away Shaytan who, upon hearing the name of Allah, says to his companions: 'You have no place to spend the night here' (Sahih Muslim 2018).
بِسْمِ اللهِ وَلَجْنَا، وَبِسْمِ اللهِ خَرَجْنَا، وَعَلَىٰ رَبِّنَا تَوَكَّلْنَا
Transliteration
Bismillāhi walajanā, wa bismillāhi kharajnā, wa ʿalā rabbinā tawakkalnā.
Translation
In the name of Allah we enter, in the name of Allah we leave, and upon our Lord we place our trust.
Source: Abu Dawud 5096, narrated by Anas ibn Malik (RA)
