Dua for Leaving the Home
The Prophet ﷺ taught a dua for leaving the home that asks for Allah's protection from misguidance and harm. The hadith promises that an angel says to the person: 'You are guided, protected and cared for,' and Shaytan is driven away.
بِسْمِ اللهِ، تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللهِ، وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ
Transliteration
Bismillāh, tawakkaltu ʿalā-llāh, wa lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāh.
Translation
In the name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah, and there is no power nor strength except with Allah.

When to recite
- Every time you step out of your home.
- Before commuting, going to work, school, or any outing.
